The Prophet is the advisor to the
Duchess and the liaison between her and the other
hoppers. He regularly swims between their home in the
Wastewater Treatment Facility and their regent's underwater dwelling below.
Description
Draped in loose, putrid robes, the Prophet is a spindly figure with pale reddish skin and bulging yellow eyes. He wears many necklaces and rings that clink as he walks, as if he prefers his arrival not to go unnoticed.
Personality
Clever and silver-tongued, he is careful with his words and cares little for those hoppers below his station, as long as they follow the orders he disguises as mysterious divinations.
Possessions
His jeweled staff contains the control gem of the famed
dowsing rod, which is said to detect the many "artifacts" scattered in the ruined city of
Redgaard.
Relationships
Allies
The Prophet is the Duchess's right-hand man and relays her commands to her vassals with confident authority. He regularly manipulates
Grog with his schemes, but the Champion still trusts him implicitly.
History
When Kapital sought to rescue a
Silver Order knight from the Wastewater Treatment Facility, the Prophet calmed tensions when the group were finally spotted. Intrigued by the group's interest in the prisoner, he dove into the sewer water to discuss possibly releasing the prisoner with the Duchess, while the group accidentally entered into a duel to the death with the Champion.
Returning from speaking with the Duchess, the Prophet agreed to release the prisoner on the condition that the group retreated and misinformed the major factions that the hoppers' home was impenetrable.
