Burla

Burla, the barbarian member of The Screaming Maidens , was a goliath native to Ester Fal. She was obsessed with physical prowess, her own and others', and loved every kind of physical challenge. She could be reckless and even mean in her pursuits, but was fiercely loyal to Lora and Mela .
In Cirta , Burla hit on Alden Blackwell in Jessop's, leading to a foursome with the two other Maidens. Her interest in Blackwell, however, did not go beyond the physical.
She was uninterested in the secrets of the Tomb of Id, but the pull of a place no one else had yet conquered in living memory convinced her to go on the expedition. She was somewhat unaffected by Seluné/Shar 's Lunar Madness , developing some generalized anxiety but otherwise remaining grounded in reality. Before the madness could develop further, she was impaled by the splintering ship's mast during the shipwreck and killed. Her body washed ashore the island Ishmael, where it was given rites by Abiyr Arsolum and laid to rest on the beach.

Burla was a relatively short goliath with light grey skin, no hair, and grey eyes. She wore a pair of much-repaired bronze wire-rim glasses and carried a large maul. Her goliath markings were a pale white.
