The Orchid of Miasma

The Courtesan of the Gods is known to reside in Chandris, the City of Gold, as a high-ranking member of the God-King's court. The party had to travel to meet with them and secure them as an ally.
Additionally, the orphanage matron Bhajeera Khaal mysteriously vanished, leaving the city with two men in golden armor without a word to any of her wards. The party's investigation led them in the direction of Chandris, where they discovered that she was Indira Ashtaar, the true Courtesan who fled the city after a tragedy over 25 years ago. They also discovered that she has 2 daughters--one of which was Ishani Khan Ashtaar, a formidable underground resistance commander known as the Bandit King.
While they were in the city, they also met Syenine Yasha. Indira's successor, and earned her trust. The party managed to extract Indira, who had been captured by the Chandran monarchy, by winning the God-King's seasonal Golden Wheat Moon tournament and asking for her release as a boon. This didn't win them any favor with the Chandran nobility, and especially not the God-King, but Ishani pledged her forces to them if they ever had the need.
Indira was released conditionally, with the expectation that she return to Chandris for her execution after the Godbreaker's return is averted.
