Idiya
The Idiya is owned by Emmett Withers and part of his project to find a sea route from Serisport to Wesshaven. She was specially commissioned for this endeavor and is ironclad and minimally armed compared to her size. For passengers, she's relatively comfortable with each cabin containing enough room for a bed, desk, and chair. The lower two decks are for the crew and steam engine. It's poorly lit and without good air ventilation. She still requires a relatively large crew. There are extra cabins on the main deck as well as a raised quarterdeck and forecastle. Both the main mast and mizzen mast can have a fore and aft rigged sail. The boom is high enough to give clearance to the steam pipes and allow the average height person to pass under without ducking.
As on a military vessel, the captain resides in the aftmost cabin on the upper deck with the marines stationed just forward of his dining room. The wardroom and most of the passenger cabins are on the lower deck with the companionway marking the division between passengers and crew. The boilers, rest of the crew berths, and sick bay are all on the orlop deck with the engine extending further into the hold. The passengers generally congregate on the quarterdeck with the wardroom officers.
She has about 24 officers, room for a year's worth of provisions including coal, and can handle up to 20 passengers. Her complement of 450 people includes sailors, marines, servants, and mates to the warrant and petty officers.
