The Cog and Gear Magical Emporium

The Cog and Gear Magical Emporium is a new business venture involving the warforged adventurer Cog and Rasturus the Alchemist, Gazza Dwindlehooke the Artificer and Morchu Hammeras. They have joined forces to create a shop that can process magic items, monster parts and weapons. It includes a Weapons range where adventurers can test out magic weapons or items that have not been identified. At the end of the range is a large metal bell shaped object. This object is a joint development by Gazza and Morchu using anti-magic dust and dispel magic runes to absorb all magical effects.
The Gnome bard named Tyll Bebo is currently lodging in the apartment space above the store.  She has recently been hired for 24gp per week, her room and board is also taken care of due to her employment.  She may accompany ATG on jobs which may help the business as she can bring back monster parts and magical artifacts for the Emporium.  Cog the warforged being part owner may treat her as an assistant.

Purpose / Function

This building is used to buy and sell magical items, monster parts and create and test magical weapons and interesting artifacts.

Alterations

Built through the Eastern wall of the city of Tellenor. It was quite a feat to get the government to approve wall modifications for the new building.  The Magic testing range was the deciding factor.  Gazza Dwindlehooke was insistent on the range being just outside the city for safety reasons.  The Duke was wary at first but due thanks to some prodding by the wizard Agrimor (and a donation of some gold to the city) the wall building permits were approved.

Architecture

The new building is made of tan colored stone to match the city walls and the front of the building sits inside the walls facing the Bazaar.  This part of the building is a two stories with the large shop on the ground floor and an apartment space on the second.  The exterior is a tan stucco like appearance with turquoise colored stained window panes and shutters.  The windows themselves are about 2 ft. tall and 1.5" wide.  The peaked roof is made of rounded copper shingles which will eventually give way to a bluish green patina.
A large set of double doors leads to a back room that is constructed on the other side of the wall. This room is primarily storage and has several large wooden cabinets that are enchanted for different temperatures and storage conditions. Another set of doors leads out to the testing range.   A new addition to the walls of Tellenor surround the long range which stretches 120 ft.  The far end has what looks to be a huge gun metal grey bell tipped on it's side with the wide open end facing the range.  When looked at closely thousands of small runes can be seen etched or painted on it's surface.  When any type of energy or damage is funneled into the bell it is absorbed and rendered inert.  The runes pulse and glow in different colors indicating the type of energy or damage.  Gazza mentions that he is planning on adding more functionality if he can get the right components.  He is hoping to add a more thorough reading of magical abilities and strengths.  The testing range is open air and has no roof in case of gas or spores.

History

Cog the warforged, a prominent member of PACT and adventure team Grimm was approached by the three artisans to act as an investor in their new business idea.  Adventurers, hunters, and dungeon delvers are always looking for a place to sell valuable monster parts and artifacts.  This is usually difficult or requires several different tradesmen scattered over a city.  This new business offers all of that in one place including a new testing range to figure out what some of those artifacts do safely.
