Malmi's Tapestry
"You will personally make a weaving of Malmi and her most loyal servants, the Strum Sisters, healing your land. You know the tapestry in your heart. Every thread should be placed in honor of the Goddess of the Tapestry and silk. You will know when you are finished, just as you will know when you fail."In the form of a giant spider, Malmi looms over the town of Asma with her legs blending into the mountains. The Crowning Comet passes across the night sky. The mountains are painted with the green, blue, and purple markings of the Borealis Cats. Panning down the tapestry, there is a humble farmhouse with accompanying silo, pasture, and garden. When passing the tapestry, three figures can be seen from the corner of your eye; however, if you turn to look, they vanish. Some claim to have seen a hut in the mountain range, but all accounts place the hut in different locations.- The Strum Sisters, in unison
Manufacturing process
It is believed that Cordella Grove wove pieces of her heart into the tapestry. Records from her family indicate that she whittled away before their eyes, aging while maintaining her youth. She lived exactly a year and one day after its completion. She spent this year teaching her community of Malmi and all of the gifts she could provide.
Significance
Cordella Grove wove Malmi's Tapestry after pleading with the Strum Sisters for magical aid. This tapestry's completion sealed the protection of the Asma Ories' farmland as long as the community continues to worship Malmi.
The tapestry spends one year - no more, no less - in a given household, then it is promptly passed along to the next family. It is always hung in a place of prominence and away from the hands of children. Many of the citizens of Asma view it with reverence and fear.
The loss of their livelihood is too great a risk for many within the Asma community, so even skeptics follow along with the community rituals. If the Heart of Asma is to be believed, a single thread fall out of place would lead to famine and inexplicable crop deterioration.
