The Maroon Owl
The Maroon Owl is the center of Varna's relaxation for the high class and the biologically aware. The large dark oak building with maroon and plum trimmings is the most coveted inn and tavern in all of Varna. The twin sisters, Ilmadia and Minuvae, regularly cater to the great noble houses as well as other wealthy residents and high-society bio-mancers.
Nest of Delight
Patrons of the inn and tavern are first presented with a facade of beautifully carved dark oak from the Feywild, with hints of maroon and plum integrated into the grain of the wood. The building also frames ornate stained glass windows depicting stories from the Unseelie Courts with planters with strange foreign flora sitting beneath. Stepping through the large double doors, one is gently presented with a lavish open sitting area. A royal and magical sense makes anyone not in those circles feel very out of place. The walls are lined with shelves of tomes and scrolls that speak of potion-making, alchemical processes, and druidic magics. The incredibly tasteful furniture is reminiscent of royal furnishings and is accented with maroon, burgundy, and plum cushions. Wafts of lavender and vanilla fill the room along with the low chatter of the many wealthy patrons. Despite the high-class clientele and the upscale interior, the twin fairy owners are of the Feywild and are prone to pulling light-hearted pranks. They regularly act like the other and create strange illusions to fill the space with laughter and joy.Naturally Unwelcoming
The Maroon Owl and its patrons are not particularly forthcoming, but the establishment will never outright deny access or service to anyone. The inn does have a mild intolerance that shows in smaller ways that might not be immediately noticeable. Waiters may deny seats at certain tables and shots may not tell prospective guests about the two luxury suites. Regular patrons at the tavern may scowl and act rudely to customers that "shouldn't" be there.Of the Faerie
Ilmadia and Minuvae are fairies and twin sisters from the Feywild. They no longer have connections to the Seelie and Unseelie Courts and rarely speak of their time in the faerie plane. The sisters are a witty, easy-going, and humorous pair with soft red hair and fair skin. Their wings are practically transparent but have a slight silver (Ilmadia) or gold (Minuvae) outline to them. The only other thing that sets the sisters apart is their dominant hand, Ilmadia being left-handed and Minuvae being right-handed. This is the most obvious give-away when they are pulling a practical joke on patrons.Wealth | ✸✸✸✸✸ |
