Tiamat, the Scaled Tyrant

Domain: God of Evil

The Scaled Tyrant is the embodiment of greed, envy, and hoarded wealth. Her most devoted followers of chromatic dragons and their descendants. However, Tiamat will accept any worship from those who crave wealth above all else. She is Bahamut's twisted sister and the immoral third of the Triad.

Enemies

Bahamut and Tiamat’s feud is theorized to have begun before the Triad was formed. Tiamat’s cults and followers are ever hunted by the Scalebearers of Bahamut. For centuries the Platinum Dragon’s zealots have worked to limit Tiamat’s worship to solely the chromatic dragons.

Physical Description

Like her better half, Tiamat is a dragon of unintelligible size. She sports five vicious dragon heads, each representing one of the chromatic colors: green, red, white, blue, and black. Most available depictions of the Scaled Tyrant serve as warnings within sanctuaries of Bahamut.

Tales and Myths

Creation of Color

There are stories told by followers of the Triad gods that spoke of when the gods were populating the world. These stories said Bahamut and Tiamat formed beings after themselves. These proto-dragons were split into two groups, each dedicated to one of their creators. Tiamat’s followers began experimenting with different aspects of life and gained color when they found meaning.

Green was the first to appear, showing the domination of plant life around the world and its intelligent ways of evolution. Red emerged from the green, representing the same themes in animal life. The white dragons were born from the primal hunger of dragons - for sustenance and wealth. Blue blossomed from the sprouting cultures around Taridad and what each stood for. The last chromatic dragons to form were the black dragons. They crawled out of the first conflicts between the primordial factions of ancient Taridad.

Ideals and Commandments

  • Amass wealth, but spend little. The gold - and the power that comes with it - is sufficient reward in itself.
  • Do not forgive nor forget an indignity to yourself. Let no affront go unpunished.
  • Take what you covet. Those without the strength to defend their dominion are not worthy of it.
