Tarragonia

Tarragonia is a world filled with amazing creatures, mystical arts, and adventure around every corner. But this isn't like your ordinary fantasy land. No. This land has the amazing benefits of dragon blood running through it. Nearly every creature that lives here has some sort of dragon lineage which it can thank for it's interesting appearance and, in some cases, abilities.  

Government

The world is split into 5 regions: Slifath, Wokai, Udoa, Yaisis, and Veilith. Each region is ruled by one of the 5 dragons of the Assembly of Elders. Each elder (or patriarch) fills an essential role in the balance of power. Their individual qualities can even be seen in the regions they rule. Although very few have been lucky enough to see even one of these magnificent powerful gods in their life time, nearly everyone has announced allegiance to one of them.   Once one has reached adult hood, they must chose which of the 5 dragons they wish to serve for the rest of their lives. The majority chose the dragon of the region they were raised in. A small percentage of people do defect to other regions but this often causes great contentions amongst their family and friends.   Each region has 3 kingdoms within it. These kingdoms vary widely as to the type of people that occupy them and how they are governed. War's do occasionally break out between kingdoms but if a war is called between kingdoms of different regions, other kingdoms within the same region are required to assist.  

Religion

While some very small groups around Tarragonia still worship the old gods (i.e. Sarenrae, Iomedae, Torah, etc.), the majority of the people prefer dragons as their deities. Nearly every adult has sworn felty to a member of the Assembly of Elders, however, it is not required to also worship that member as a god. It is quite common for an individual to worship the same dragon as the patriarch they have sworn felty to. Other dragons outside of the 5 patriarchs exist and have small followings as well but most worship one of the 5 patiarchs.  

The Tournament of Tarragons

Every 7 years, the Assembly of Elders meet to discuss the balance of power and make plans on how to fix or maintain the current balance. For the past 250 years, the people of Tarragonia have celebrated this amazing event by hosting a worldwide competition called the Tournament of Tarragons .
