Tournament of Tarragons

This worldwide event is held every 7 years. The tournament lasts 6 months and consists of many tests and challenges. The winner of the event obtains fame, glory, and riches while the losers (if you're lucky enough to live) return to their kingdom in a cloak of shame and humility of which they will suffer for the rest of their lives.

The Chosen

Each kingdom selects 3 of their most talented subjects to send to Long Daxue (Dragon University) located in the Randhold Kingdom. A total of 15 kingdoms send 45 students to the school. Only 5 of these 45 souls will be chosen to represent the regions in the tournament.

Enlightenment Fest

Before heading to training, The Chosen are hosted at a special celebration called Enlightenment Fest. The celebration lasts a weekend. After the festival is over, the students board a caravan of coaches and begin a 3 day trip to the school.

Training

Training lasts 1 year. After the first 6 months, the school selects 5 students from each region to continue their training. One week before graduation, the school sends a report to the tournament board of each region. These boards consist of kings/queens or their assigned advisors. The board reviews the report and then selects one individual that will represent their region in the tournament.

The Tournament

The tournament’s starting location changes with each event. It’s location is determined by a vote of the Tarragonian Grand Council. At the start of the tournament, the Grand Torch of Endor is lit and the 5 champions are given their quests which must be completed within 6 months. If no one survives the tournament, the winner is determined by evaluating who had completed the most tasks and the difficulty of the completed tasks. The first to finish all the tasks wins. Each task requires the champion to obtain an item which will prove the task was completed. The list of tasks changes every year accept for one: Each champion must fight a great worm and obtain 6 scales or 6 teeth from the dragon.
