Obbob (Ohb-Bob)
Obbob's are a species from the Expanse, they are simple creatures often used as fodder or servants by the Ancients and Solzrath. While simple, Obbob's are highly intelligent. They love puzzles and pulling pranks on creatures they deem of lower intelligence. Their trust is easily gained, but never trust a Obbob's intentions are pure.
Obbob's communicate with other intelligent beings telepathically, through spores they infect their target with. This makes the receiving individual part of the Obbob's fungal network, allowing it to locate a creature and speak with it from long distances.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Obbob's range in size from 2ft in diameter to 10ft in diameter. They are furry, round-bodied creatures with one singular central eye. The number of wings, tentacles and growths are unique to each individual Obbob.
Genetics and Reproduction
Obbob's reproduce asexually. It is theorized that every fungal growth on an Obbob's body can sprout a new Obbob.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Obbob's are native to The Expanse where it is theorized that they feed off of the living vines and environment of the Expanse via the fungal spores that cover their body. This seems to be a symbiotic relationship between the local area and the Obbob.
Behaviour
Obbob's are typically friendly to strangers in their land. They can be extraordinarily dangerous if provoked, but do not see creatures they deem as less intelligent than themselves as threats unless phsyical violence is started by the visiting party.
Additional Information
Average Intelligence
Obbobs are highly intelligent creatures, though their child-like behavior can make them seem simple and easily tricked. This is not the case, as an Obbob is always plotting two steps ahead.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Obbob's can see very well in the dark with their large central eye, out to 300ft. Reportedly, older Obbob's develop extra senses to detect creatures invisible. We do not know for which purpose this sense was developed, as Obbob's do not need to hunt.
Average Physique
Round bodies covered with a fur-like covering. No obvious limbs but multiple tentacles extending from the bottom of the Obbob, often with fungal growths attached at the tips.
