Prince Sebastian, Duke of Cambridge, makes state visit to Jordan, Israel, and Palestine.
In a trip meant to strengthen British relations globally, Sebastian made a state visit to the Middle East, specifically to Jordan, Israel, and Palestine. In Jordan, Sebastian was guest of honor at a state dinner, as he was also in Israel. While touring Palestine, Sebastian voiced an opinion that much of Gaza was 'illegally occupied' by Israeli forces and that he supported a two state solution to the territorial dispute. This opinion was seen to damage UK-Israeli relations and the Prince had to publically state that he, and the United Kingdom at large, were ardent supporters of Isreal and of Isreal's right to defend itself.
