Launch of the Earthshot Prize

Sebastian launches the Earthshot Prize.

After two years of research, Sebastian launched the Earthshot Prize, designed to provide funding and incentive for environmental solutions over the next decade. The Prize is slated to be given annually to five winners each year, in accordance with five categories detailing restoration of nature, air cleanliness, ocean conservation, waste-free living, and climate change. Following the launch, Sebastian gave a TED Talk on environmental protection and conservation as part of the TED Countdown climate change initiative. Later that month, Sebastian took over patronages of Fauna and Flora International and the British Trust for Ornithology, passed from his grandparents. In the same month, he appeared in an ITV documentary titled Prince Sebastian: A Planet For Us All to discuss environmental issues and to raise awareness of the Earthshot Prize.
