Frilled Snow Serpent
Creatures native to Kalvena are often few and in-between of the reptilians variety. Those adapted here find themselves suited for the harsh environment that awaits them in the cold north. The long serpents that find themselves huddled beneath long boughs of snow and curled pathways offer both danger and delight in scores to travelers. These creatures are smarter than they look.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Long and winding serpentine bodies covered with longer scale protrusions that feel like feathers act as an insulator for the cold, and can frill upwards when threatened.
Biological Traits
Extended life span, usually living up to around 100 cycles and weighing nearly 2 tons at full size.
Growth Rate & Stages

Domestication
A Sval tribe has brought these into the fold as trusted pets among their people. They are known as the Serpent Speakers
Facial characteristics
Many of the frills extend around and behind the head in almost a bird-like mane that can flare up when threatened.
