Dalton's father is the billionaire genius transhumanist founder of Singularity Systems, Doctor Francis Dunn. Francis was always disappointed by his son who, while bright, failed to live up to his exacting standards. He experimented on Dalton, eventually replacing significant parts of his brain and body with advanced cybernetics. Dalton's intellect is now equal to his father's but he is not interested in his father's vision of the future, preferring instead to use his abilities to better the lives of normal people.
