The Living Island of Doctor Darwin

The visible parts of the island are the shell of an enormous tenturticle, a sea turtle/giant octopus hybrid of vast proportions. As such, the island can travel from place to place, even submerging beneath the waves if needed. The various sea life created by Doctor Darwin can interlock to form a living, translucent dome covering the island and protecting the air-breathing inhabitants during submersion.
