Personal history

To the north of the elven city Bysaes Tyl, near the edge of town, one may find a small, somewhat poor farm...with a notably large and boisterous family. This would be the Stoutman Shamba, the childhood home of Cassandra Stoutman.

Born second out of eight children to a soldier father and farmer mother, Cassandra (or Cassie, as she'd have you call her) was destined to be strong, responsible, and above all, full of love. Often dragging along her sweet older sister and energetic younger brother along with her, the young Cassie would find out much about herself growing up in the rural parts of the city.

Her sense of adventure was first and foremost, always ready to explore new places on the outskirts of town, challenge new things, helping the townsfolk anyway she could, and ultimately overcome anything that stood in her way!

The second was her aptitude for fighting, inherited from her honorably retired soldier of a father. With that eagerness to become better at whatever she did, she'd soon become skilled with all sorts of weaponry by training both against the man himself and even a stray monster wandering near their property. This skill, however, would soon enough turn her brother into a bitter rival... Besting him again and again despite the self-imposed pressures of being the first son, Jerick would ultimately challenge Cassandra to one final match before being beaten soundly, forcing him to leave town at the age of 16 for a path to more strength.

The third discovery would be a...touchier subject. One that formed after a dangerous encounter with a monster and a brave rescuing of her sister Amara, resulting in a temporary condition that'd spark something in her...
Ultimately, the girl would grow to be a soldier for her hometown by the age of 18, hoping to do well and bring her poor, seemingly EVER-EXPANDING family up into even greater wealth. However, after investigating the murder of a Dwendalian Empire official and finding her now rebellion-joined brother Jerick at the heart of it, when Cassandra decided to protect her family and take the fall, she was thrown in prison. It was there that she’d learn just how shady things were within the Empire.

Learning all she could from an imprisoned priest of Avandra, the ideals of bringing change and freedom to her people and more rang in her ears much like her brother’s. Though she’d do it a different way, she too would fight to reform the Empire for the better.

Now, having had her bail paid by the admiring folk of Bysaes Tyl, Cassandra journeys on a quest, beginning with a search for a proper shrine to Avandra to swear her paladin’s oath. An oath to the glorious freedom of the repressed, and the downfall of a corrupt government...
