2 Fateful moments
While on a long journey, you were picked up by a traveling group of artisans: a circus, a restaurant, a group of painters, or some other oddly-purposed crew of similar style. You spent a significant amount of time with them before leaving, and as such, you have proficiency in one skill of Acrobatics, Performance, and Persuasion as well as proficiency with a disguise kit or set of artisan's tools of your choice.

Veritas lived a rather secluded life in his formative years, living with his only living family, his wealthy and overworked father. His mother had died during childbirth and had bore no children before him, leaving him an only child to a single parent. Veritas' father was often absent with his secretive work and wasn't very social even when he was home. This, paired with the lack of Veritas' mother in their lives, left Mr. Blackhaven often feeling guilty. He would shower Veritas in whatever he desired as a child, which for Veritas, was often dozens of books. Veritas spent most of his free time reading and researching anything he could get his hands on. As he grew into a young teen, Veritas began to take an obsessive interest into the arcane, learning all about the use of different schools of arcana and how they are implemented all over Rosohna. As Veritas grew into a young adult, he entered into a school of arcane teaching in the Firmaments, where he would practice the arcane arts for what would be his last few years in Xhorhas.
During his time practicing at the college, Veritas' father, Mr. Blackhaven, had found himself missing having someone around the house, not realizing how little he had interacted with anyone other than his son for years. He had plenty of time over the 18 years to be able to let go of his grief enough to move on and had begun looking for another women to settle down with in his now empty home.
