Odouin

Odouin, the Happy Warrior, is the god of those who fight for wine and coin, as well as drunks, heroes and barkeeps. His best friend is Samael, and he stands staunchly alongside Geron against the enemies of the gods, though each disapproves of the other. Clerics of Odouin are often found in - or leading - mercenary bands, or serving as chaplains in Imperial armies. Older clerics who want to retire from military life often open taverns. The church of Odouin has thrived in modern Kain, perhaps more than any other Imperial God, as his values of freedom and joyous celebration are held in high esteem in the Free City, and many mercenary companies call the city home.   The symbol of Odouin is a gladius sheathed in an amphora, and his church holds wine, music and dance to be sacred. Before Kain formalised the Imperial faith, Odouin was a popular god among mercenaries and adventurers. Kain adopted him into the pantheon as an attempt to bolster the loyalties of the seasoned mercenaries who formed the backbone of the early Imperial army.
