Our adventure begins when Reuben von Malakai kidnaps several residents of Auriel and brings them with him to Kazbarrow, where his champion Sigrid defeated the guardian so they could enter the tomb. Reuben stole the Purple Gem of the Dragon King from the tomb of Kaz and used it to brainwash several of his kidnapped victims. The party pursues him, but they are unable to stop him from accomplishing his goal and he continues onwards.
The party stumbles into the middle of a grisly series of murders on their way to Kazholm, discovering that the perpetrator is a former resident of the town who was thought to be one of the first victims of the killer. They bring him to justice and Bjorn beheads him once the party realizes that he's been too corrupted by the influence of his lycanthropic curse (as well as the tragic events that lead to it) to recover.
The party stumbles across a Voidhulk wreaking havoc in Kain, slays it, and tracks its origins to a cell of the Cult of Shuggaroth. The remaining cultists have been transformed into hosts for one of the entities called Fungoids, which the party destroys with fire. Lots and lots of fire.
Veriax, the Lost Imperial God of Magic, escapes the Godtree in Uruken Swamp with the help of his cult. The party flees Uruken pursued by Asezass, a powerful Demon in service of Veriax.
