All Druid Swamp Party | Session 1: Swamp Romp
General Summary
On a bright, early morning in the village of Bog Downs, an eclectic group of Druids gathered to travel to Murky Ida Mirepaddler to Ask Ida for permission to build a new community center (and/or party palace) in their home. These druids included:
After some short-lived discussion and negotiation, the trio of humanoid creatures were revealed to be Eaters of Vhog'dros, a cannibal cult that had taken up residence in the Ashfen Rend without the permission of Murky Ida Mirepaddler. After the Lizardfolk attempted to take a bite out of Bull, a short-lived but intense fight broke out, resulting in the trio of Eaters being killed, with the exception of the Lizardfolk, whom Hugh turned into a Fungal Zombie.
At the conclusion of the combat, Ralph Spaghetti ordered a trio of spiders he had enlarged during the combat to traverse the Obsidian Quay and form a living bridge for the Swamp Party to walk across, but as soon as the spiders started wading into the obsidian waters, Murky Ida's Black Patches swarmed and consumed them whole. Thankfully for the Swamp Party, Murky Ida and her doorman, Big Bruce, arrived shortly after this to greet the party.
Through the use of necromantic magic, Murky Ida was able to determine that the trio of Eaters had been sent by their leader, The Liver King, to kill Murky Ida Mirepaddler and bring her corpse back to their Den on the other side of the Ashfen Rend.
Upon learning this information, Murky Ida Mirepaddler proposed a deal to the Swamp Party: kill the Eaters and bring the Liver King (dead, alive, or reanimated), back to her as a meal for her Black Patches in exchange for permission for building the community center in Bog Downs. Ralph Spaghetti hastily agreed to her proposal, and received some kind of promissory band of black ooze on his wrist. Murky Ida Mirepaddler then returned to her home, but ordered Big Bruce to travel with the party to the Eater Den as their guide.
Big Bruce led the party through the Ashfen Rend towards the Eater Den, during which he shared that he had been "a man once", but that he was "happy" with his current service to Murky Ida Mirepaddler.
When the Swamp Party arrived at the Eater Den, they attempted to sneakily approach the Eaters and the Liver King, but were unsuccessful when a series of accidents and mistakes left most of the party exposed to the Eaters of Vhog'dros.
A fierce battle broke out between the Swamp Party and their enemies, during which it was revealed that The Liver King was capable of enlarging himself to enormous size, and that he and Ralph Spaghetti had some history with each other.
As the first round of combat came to a close, the fetid water of the swamp began to recede as a massive, tentacled monster emerged from the center of the Eater Den. TO BE CONTINUED...
