Circles of Icunda

The Circles of Icunda was a theocratic confederation of druidic enclaves in the Faylen Gulf that was formed during the colonization of the Faylen Continent. They worshipped Icunda, the Earthmother, and took a hardline stance against the industrialization of Faylen. The circles were eventually defeated in a war with the Iron Dominion.

The Circles of Icunda operated as a confederacy, with each circle largely governing its own affairs and a council made up of representatives from each circle handling foreign policy. Nearly all of the leaders of the circles were either users of nature magic or priests of Icunda. The use, making, or mining of metal was strictly forbidden within the circles, and some of the circles forbade the consumption of meat.

During the Iron Rebellion , the revolutionary war that ended with the founding of the Iron Dominion, the Circles of Icunda provided support to Gregor Ferrous and his rebel cells. However, soon after the conflict ended tensions began flaring up between the two nations, particularly when it came to the development of resources in the gulf. Agents working for the circles began coordinated terrorist attacks against dominion cities and assets, which eventually led to all out war.

Though they were strong in the use of nature magic, the Circles were no match for the military might of the Dominion, and the circles were soon wiped out. The remaining population was folded into the citizenry of the Dominion, their lands were conquered, and their leadership were either imprisoned, executed, or fled into the Eastern Wildlands.
