Overview:
Whispers spread throughout town of an ancient Dejy shrine, recently uncovered by a landslide. It's dedicated to Yendaj but depicts aspects of the god not commonly known. Locals who ventured near reported having their dreams haunted by restless spirits, begging for release. Curiosity and a sense of duty draw Darja to the site.
Plot points/Scenes
Whispers in the Wind: Darja hears rumors from the locals about the shrine, but they also mention that since its discovery, the community has been plagued by nightmares of tormented spirits and visions of long-forgotten rituals.
Echoes of the Past: Upon arriving at the shrine, Darja experiences flashbacks of ceremonies from ancient times, suggesting the Dejy once had a different relationship with Yendaj, or practiced rituals now considered heretical.
Restless Spirits: The spirits in the nightmares are clerics of Yendaj from times long past, who were persecuted and ostracized for their beliefs, much like Darja. They cannot find rest and seek Darja's help in performing a lost ritual to appease Yendaj and grant them eternal sleep.
The Lost Ritual: Darja must search the surrounding area for ritual components, including rare herbs that induce deep sleep and ancient relics connected to Yendaj. Along the way, she'll face challenges from locals who believe she's digging up a past best left forgotten, as well as creatures drawn to the unrested spirits' energy.
Dreamwalk: With all components gathered, Darja must perform the ritual and enter a dream state, confronting and soothing the restless spirits within the realm of dreams. Here, she'll learn more about the history of her faith and the sacrifices these spirits made.
Awakening: Upon successfully completing the ritual, the spirits find peace, and the nightmares cease. The shrine becomes a place of tranquility. As a reward, Darja receives a blessing from Yendaj, possibly a relic or a new divine ability related to dreams and rest.
