Dihaptic River
The river that runs through Laurelindorinen Tor. It is a waterway, source of cooking and drinking water, subject of myths and object of rituals. The river is small, yet mighty, unique in that it is constantly recirculating and filtering itself through a large natural aquifer. It spills forth through natural springs, builds up in pockets and voids of packed sand and rock, and rushes down to run for more than a dozen miles, underground.
The Dihaptic is a very special river. It carries some very special properties with its gentle yet inexorable flow. Properties that have helped the massive trees growing above it to get so freakishly large, and extend their roots so very deep. These sequioa trees, gigantic in their own right even without the help of the Dihaptic, have surpassed even the mightiest of trees in Pax. The four trees are called the life trees, by the Sylvan. Or, in their flowery parlance, "Daborough". As far as the Wood Elves are concerned, the extent to which each of the trees' roots is intertwined, and dependent upon the others, make them a single organism.
The water is somewhat cloudy, white with whatever wispy compound it is that gives the warm waters their mystical properties. If one were to look very closely, it would seem like there were clouds of tiny dots chasing each other around. We know there are no living things within the water. Similarly, it has been confirmed it is not poisonous, or magical, or even toxic. The water seems strangely wet when it is drunk, which (while an odd sentence to write) is a difficult thing to discern. Strangely refreshing may be a better way to put it.
Geography
A small river springing from a natural spillover within the sand and rocks of the east end of the Rootway under Laurelindorinen Tor. It is forced up through an aqueous layer of porous minerals. It flows nearly due west, with only the occasionl zig, or sometimes a zag, ruining the perfect lines of its route. At the far western end, the river forms a large subterranean lake, where it slowly seeps back into the aquifer, filtering itself as it goes.
Ecosystem
The minerals in the water, though non toxic, also mean it is not host to any insects or bacteria.
Localized Phenomena
The aquifer itself is one hell of a phenomenon.
Climate
The water temperature stays relatively steady at 82°F, and the speed of ther current is relative to ones proximity to the falls at the eastern end of the river's run.
Natural Resources
The mineral water, itself, is (naturally) the resource.
History
This is the river the Sylvan, also known as Wood Elves, sheltered around during the rain of fire and terror for the few years after the impact.
