The Arendarensai Medical Campus
An enormous hospital and medical facilities campus located just outside of the main The Bardic College Campus, it continues to make strides in serving both the physically and mentally afflicted. Ideated and originally built long ago by a mysterious naval officer, it is a unique space in the world of the healer.
Boasting single-bed recovery rooms and an unheard of staff to patient ratio, the Hospital has recently been recognized among academia for a medical breakthrough involving bone and joint replacements, and neural nets made of the odd seaweed found in the south end of the Primeval Valley. Attracting the greatest medical minds from across the world, it is the only place upon Pax where humans and nonhumans dwell and work not only side by side, but completely hand-in-hand with one another. There are also students and staff that have come here, quietly, from across the great sea. From the The City of the Lights on the other side of the world! There are even some few of the ultra rare, gypsy like Singers, a point of pride for the school, to be frank.
The Kingdom of Cotnor does not recognize the existence of the school, officially, and intentionally spreads tales and legends to keep their population ignorant of the school's existence, yet even still yellow haired Northmen also come to the college unopposed by the Kingdoms between.
Purpose / Function
For the treatment -medical, surgical, magical, and divine- and diagnosis of disease and injury. To house and accommodate the afflicted. To afford all patients the proper processes for the rehabilitation of the body, mind, and spirit.
Alterations
The original farmhouse and outbuildings has been replaced entirely by and impressive gothic stone hospital building featuring surgical theaters and offices for the medical staff. The campus currently contains over one hundred structures built distinctly for the purposes of the healing the ill. They also installed a tiki bar on the roof once they realized they had hundreds of over achieving perfectionists on their hands who just needed to blow off steam once in a while.
Architecture
The hospital itself is a gothic structure of grey stone and stained glass, yet the interior is warm and bright, decked out in soothing colors and with comfortable furniture around every corner. There are gargoyles perched all round the top of the massive building, but if you look closely, they're all holding medical equipment.
