Mina Heltz

The Forgeheart

The Forgeheart stands as the unyielding bulwark of the world of Tenebra and the Pantheon of the Black Star. She seeks to defend that which is with her considerable might against the external threats that assail the world and most importantly the denizens thereof. Mina’s values emphasize the betterment of the self for the benefit of others. Her followers are mostly human, despite her elven heritage, and it’s not known why. She tends to favor them. Mina models the values of community and protection that have cemented deep-rooted relationships among households and neighbors. Her focus on strategy and tactical acumen centers on protection, reflected in impenetrable walled cities and conservative military tactics, including the willingness to use offensive maneuvers as a form of defense. She also represents the forge: the creation of fine works from raw materials, practice and mastery of a craft, and pride in one’s work. Her purview extends even to those activities that feed the community, such as tilling the earth for agriculture.   Category: Pantheon of the Black Star   Edicts: Be honorable and forthright, serve your people, create useful works however humble, defend the weak, lift   Anathema: Tell lies or cheat someone, hoard your talent and treasure, useless decoration, tyranny, laziness   Areas of Concern: Protection, warfare, forge   Follower Alignments: Lawful Good, Neutral Good

Divine Intercession

Minor Boon: Mina grants you a shield whenever you need one. You can use an Interact action to draw a 0-level non-magical iron shield, even if you have no shields on your person. Such a shield lasts only as long as you continue using it to defend, and it can’t be sold, given away, melted for scrap iron, or the like.   Moderate Boon: Mina rewards fine craftsmanship. If you wield any item you made yourself that is of Good Quality, it gains the Focused trait. If it already has the Focused trait, increase the number of Focus points granted from it by 1.   Major Boon: Standing watch or guarding a location counts as resting for you, preventing you from being fatigued due to lack of rest as long as you stand watch for at least 6 hours a day. You can recover your Focus Points (if you have them) by standing guard in addition to any other options you have available. When on guard, you gain a +4 status bonus to Perception to notice ambushes and other dangers approaching. As long as you are holding a shield, you are always Defending during exploration without needing to move at half your travel speed, and you can perform another exploration activity as well. While you are using a shield, its Hardness increases by 5.   Minor Curse: Mina rewards cowardice with frailty. Any armor you wear and shield you wield reduces its item bonus to AC by 2 (minimum 0) and its Hardness, Hit Points, and Break Threshold by half. Furthermore, You get no gains hereafter. You don't deserve your strength if you use it this poorly. Strength cannot be raised. Any bonus to Strength from items etc is negated   Moderate Curse: You must prove your skills at a craft by providing your equipment and shoddy artisanship makes itself known. Whenever an item you’re using takes damage, it is broken. Furthermore, you only gain item bonuses from items you make yourself.   Major Curse: You are forever cast out from your home. Members of your community have their attitudes towards you shift two steps worse, meaning those who used to be helpful are now indifferent, those who were friendly are now unfriendly, and all others are now hostile. This doesn’t necessarily result in violence, but hostile community members generally seek your permanent exile.

Herald:

Fafnir is A ruby red dragon that was a former berserker and a prince to the Aenir people during the Great Holy War. He appears as a pale, black-haired gentleman in his human form while taking the appearance of a 60-foot-long blackish dragon with yellow eyes and a stormy aura.

Realm:

Ny Valhollr, or New Valhalla, is filled with golden fields of grain in spring surround an ever-rising mountain peak. Those who won valor in worthy battle arrive here and are welcomed into the great mead hall for feasting and drinking for eternity until they are once more needed. The men and women who dedicate themselves to worthy crafting and artistic creation have the mountain to greet them. They are welcome to ascend the peak and set up their workshop wherever they wish. The higher they climb and prove their physical prowess, the greater the workshop they are rewarded with. The warriors are also encouraged to attempt the climb and find their place upon the peak, fighting whatever beasts they find there. Again, the higher they climb, the greater the reward. While the rest of eternity is welcome after a life of struggle, Ny Valhollr offers its denizens the opportunity for ever greater feats ever after as well.
