This apocalyptic event occurred as the gods decided to make war on the giants following their arrogance in not only propagating themselves as gods but also defying their grand plans for Tenebra.
The Conflict
Prelude
This apocalyptic event occurred 1000 years after the first of the mortal races of Tenebra appeared in the world. The giants had initially rejected their offsprings due to the giant's newfound sterility. Yet, it was thanks to the intervention of the Great Race that they were enlightened on a different prospect, guidance. Over the course of over a thousand years of enlightenment, the giants became the founders of a great faith surrounding both them and the Great Race. They were the Makers and the Prophets, and their religion spread far and wide across the planet as it began a massive leap in development and evolution. This became so widespread that it ired the gods immensely as their grand plans had been foiled by a Great Race of Xenos Interlopers. The gods then declared a genocidal war against both the giants and the Great Race.
Countless gods and many thousands of gods and Great Races.
The vast majority of
Light Elves leave Tenebra's physical plane and forge
Ildathach with what remained of the elven gods. The rest of the elves devolved into the High Elves who have mass misinterpreted the final words of the Light Elves "stay still with a heart of joy and family, stay pure of body and magic, and stay wise to the tides of change." 10,000 years after the end of Ragnogoth, the Fracturing occurs and more than half of the High Elf population leaves to evolve in various other lands.
The vast majority of dwarves begin to reject Empyrean worship in favor of ancestral and dwarvish god worship.
Ruins of ancient and highly advanced civilizations are still buried deep within the earth, but only the ancient dwarves were able to study them immensely. The dwarvish gods were also non-present in the destruction of the giants and actively objected to the events of Ranogoth, the "extinction" of the Great Race, and the death of the gnomish gods who had actively protested the events of Ragnogoth.
The creation of Gehenna and the exile of the Gods of Gehenna occurred swiftly after this event occurred due to the Gehennan Gods' disgust with the gods of Empyrea.
Historical Significance
The Great Race and most Giants now dwell within the Great Peaks of Gorstros and have created the race of mutants known as the
Risi.
