Vincent Clos

the Erudite

Vincent Clos, a constituent of the Circle of the Black Star from its founding, is a scholar and lore keeper of the group. His primary task was uncovering the secrets of the Dreamlands and learning how to ascend to godhood. Thanks to a pact made with the Spring fey lord, he was given both the power of the fey and access to a secret fey library where he spent over 30 years conducting research about the Dreamlands. In return for these gifts, he was tasked with spreading jubilation to the people and bringing the fey lord, Nurarihyon , exotic gifts, and alcohol from around the world.
Now having risen to the status of a deity, Vincent is focused on the mastery of truespeech. As such he blesses all those who dedicated themselves to rigorous study, though his heart still belongs to the party and often reminds his followers to express their individuality and let loose every once in a while.

Divine Intercession:

Minor Boon Once when you fail an attempt to recall knowledge, you critically succeed instead. Vincent typically only grants this boon when the knowledge gained would primarily be used to help someone else in need.
Moderate Boon Mind Reading spell at will
Major Boon Your inner beauty and love surround you in an aura. As long as you bear them no ill will, all creatures other than fiends, undead, and mindless creatures start with an attitude of friendly toward you, unless they would have been helpful instead. This doesn’t mean they are willing to change their life or plans for you, and this boon does not prevent their attitudes from worsening if you try to thwart them. This effect doesn’t work against deities and similarly powerful creatures. Additionally, the love you share with your friends inspires them. You and your allies gain a +3 status bonus to saving throws and skill checks as long as you can see each other.
Minor Bane You fumble over your words, and must heavily concentrate in order to properly speak or complete incantations. You are permanently stupefied 1
Moderate Bane You can’t voluntarily back out of an agreement or contract or go back on your word, though you need to follow only the letter of the agreement, not the spirit.
Major Bane You become both inelegant and ineloquent, becoming completely inept at conveying meaning and weight with either your words or your actions. You become permanently clumsy 2 and stupefied 2, and your speed is reduced by half. The way you carry yourself becomes so strange, all creatures become unfriendly towards you, unless they would have been hostile instead. This spreads to your friends around you, as others associate your weirdness with them as well. Any allies within 15 feet of you are also treated as unfriendly, unless a creature was already hostile toward them.

Herald:

Tabata Hiroya is a former samurai that has formally accepted his friend’s offer to be Vincent’s Herald. He enjoys a good drink and a good time with women.

Realm:

The Grand Library is a realm with an endless amount of books. The library is sorted by the most relevant and useful texts near the center, spanning out until the books become so abstract that they carry no inherent meaning. The entrance to the library is an elegant foyer with a spiraling skylight above, lined with books.
