The Blackhold is built on a high hill in the flat grasslands. It is a high castle with a dreary appearance. It lacks of banners of splendor. The castle is built with dull dark grey stones. The walls of the castle and it's towers have many windows and murder holes. Despite the outside appearance, the inside of the Blackhold is quite warm and cozy. It is decorated with many weapons and suits of armour along the hallways and rooms of the castle. The great hall has a large blackwood table, with many chairs along the sides of the table to fit all of the kin and people of the Blackhold. Unlike other lords, they eat with the commonborn that work there. There is a great harth in the hall, which illuminates the entire room and many sconces.
The outside courtyard is home to training grounds and a kennel. Soldiers for the crown are trained here, along with members of House Blackhold. House members will fight, practice, and sometimes sleep together in the same quarters to try to produce humility.
There are many villages and farms scattered around the lands of House Blackhold that provide the castle with the food that they need. Every half year, the Blackholds host a festival where they invite all of the commonfolk to the castle to supper with them inside the castle with all the food that they have gathered.
