Lapis Festival
At the first hint of winter all fishing must cease in Carcassonne. The fish are considered honored guests in the lake until spring has ebbed and the new generation has returned from the hatchery. On this day, they celebrate the fish and the bounty it bestows upon the town.
All sorts of salmon foods are available, and lapis lazuli inlaid crafts of all sorts. Many works of art with that blue that only comes from the Gemborne Salmon. It is clear that the people here care deeply for them, and revere the role that the gemborne salmon play in their lives.

History
The celebration started as a regulation from a ranger who protected the lake. An agreement to allow the salmon a reprive. To ensure that they would always thrive and be there for future generations. The well being of the salmon is tied to the well being of Carcassonne. It is a major food source, alongside farming. And the craftwork industries depend on the lapis lazuli that is so easily accessible through the salmon.
Over time, legends formed about the salmon and their powers. The relationship between Carcasses and Gemborne became one of admiration. During the winters the people of Carcassonne will tend to the lake to ensure that the Gemborne Salmon are healthy and strong, ready to make the journey into the mountain to reproduce come the spring.
