Carcassonne
The northern city of Carcassonne is divided between the keep at the mouth of the valley, and the city safely a horizon's distance away. The keep is surrounded by ruins, a wall that once stood against the undead armies, now lost. But the keep remains active, engaging the roving undead as they come and keeping the proper city safe. Nestled in the protection of the mountains the city boasts a magnificent Cathedral of the Feathered Hope. As well as a tower behind the 'Forest of Lost Tears'. So named that years ago, but no one really remembers why. The same with the 'Lake of Eternal Anguish'.
There is currently a discussion underway with the Council to rename them. New suggestions for the name are being collected at the Cathedral.

Government
The military keeps Carcassonne safe, and acts as the judge in local matters. Ultimately they all answer to The Seated Council when it meets in Provenance. But between sessions Marcus, the leader of the council, personally oversees Carcasonne.
Defences
Carcassonne has a military keep that stands at the mouth of the valley. They are a well regulated outfit and have become quite good at keeping Carcassonne safe from the undead for longer than living memory. The Decomposed and Screamers are easily dealt with, and even when a Wrathwalker brings forces to bear, their defenses and training have prevented any successful incursions.
Guilds and Factions
The Church of Feathered Hope holds significant sway in Carcassonne. They are the cultural center of the town and all community members are expected to be seen in worship on the appropriate holy days. To not show up is taken as an affront to the rest of the community.
Natural Resources
The pines that grow here are prized for their lumber.
