Mopo's Academy of Wayward Wizardry
Mnuxim Mopo is begrudgingly recognized as one of the most troublesomely aggravating illusionists in recent memory. And extended memory really, gnomes live for a good couple centuries and Mister Mopo is certainly up there in the years now. But he's decided to share his knowledge, opening his own home downriver on the Tense as an academy.
It is a small group of students, only perhaps a dozen. But they turn up in the darndests of places.

Structure
Mnuxim is the head teacher, but more advanced students tutor the novices.
Assets
Mnuxim Mopo bankrolls the needs of the school out of pocket.
Education
Students are taught not only the mechanisms of magic, but the applications. Specifically focusing on illusion, and the ways in which using shadow and light can create a truth.
Novices are trained in a classroom setting, but earn their keep by assisting more advanced students, cleaning, and maintaining the enchanted arboretum. Not all novices find they are cut out for the arboretum, this is one of the first real tests they'll face in the program.
More advanced Apprentices are given independent research and applied magics projects to pursue. Sometimes that involves field research, interacting with the public, transportation, really anything that Mister Mopo can explain away as a learning experience.
