Tense River Basin

A temperate forest region, crossed by small mountain ranges and most notably a major river running from the south east towards the northwest coastline. The entire area is riddled with tributaries, streams, and ponds.

Geography

The region consists of forest, grassland, marshland, mountains, and a coastal region. Most notably the Tense River runs through through the center, fed by tributaries throughout the region. Everything here eventually washes out to sea. The journey the creeks and streams take down from the mountains, across the plain, and through civilization is winding and seems endless. But it all leads to the sea.

Fauna & Flora

Although undead are not strictly considered fauna, in this region it is worth noting their presence. They rise from the earth unbidden. The victims of an ancient war, rising again to consume the living. Shambling decomposed corpses that cross the landscape. Screaming bodies leading herds of unliving flesh through the fields.
Otherwise, it is a very North American analogue. A time before deforestation with old growth temperate forests. Massive stands of oak and maple. Filled with bears, deer, wolves.
The grasslands expansive and low lying, with hares, foxes, and meadowlarks. Herds of pronghorn swiftly moving through the tall grasses like ghosts.
Marshlands are noted for their scraggly twisted mangroves. Stunted trees that monstrously reach out over the ground. Here, the Fortchmen make their home and little is known about what else might reside there. Few humanoids have braved the borders of Forth Territory and returned.
