The pinky is half the length of the other fingers. A venom-drenched nail can be exposed and used for stabbing a living being to deliver said poison.

At coming of age, a male dwarf has his employment chosen for him by his mother; a female dwarf may pick any path she so chooses. At marriage, the Queen of a Ve will either solidify a male dwarf's profession or change it entirely.

Only a few professions involve working directly with a dragon partner of their own. These are: Ve Guard, Explorer, and Queen.
