Bogdan was the well-respected High Judicator of Ilith, having been elevated to his position by unanimous vote on Hammer 29, 395.
From rather humble beginnings, Bogdan built a quiet reputation in his native Dol Darun as a friendly man with an unflappable sense of honor and justice. His clan was poor and almost unknown, even to those within the hold. With few options available by virtue of birth, he chose a life in the mines, as many young dwarves continue to do. He quickly found himself angered with the treatment of the Warforged slaves he worked alongside with, and helped spearhead a movement to emancipate them in Ilithian society.
Eventually, after gaining the support of the Artificers and being named a Judicator, Bogdan challenged High Judicator Rolph Ironfellow to a public debate and duel. All present considered Bogdan to have won, leading Rolph to be banished from the city.
With vast popular support, Bogdan's allies called for an immediate vote to confirm that he should be the next High Judicator. The few who did not support Bogdan could not afford the shame and dishonor of disavowing him, and for this reason he received a vote of unanimous support.
Bogdan ruled for many years from Dol Darun atop a wide network of allies and supporters. He is said to have enjoyed vast popular support. His legacy included such significant geopolitical events as forging trade agreements with the Ionian Republic and Aurelia and uniting the disparate dwarves of the Cloudscrape Mountains.
Bogdan died during the opening salvo of the Second Descent under mysterious circumstances.
