The dwarves of a civilization far East and South settled in the region almost a decade prior to the attack that settled Bessinville. They were lost in search of a legendary mountain filled with unimaginable treasures. Most were tired of travel so gladly took up in the town. Although not used to life above ground they took to it fairly well and created a large lumber company to make money.
