Seeker Trains

Seeker Trains are a sub-class of Steam Engine Locomotives, with their designs deriving from Locomotriam's. From this, their designs are specifically based on what would operate on the Var Nexa Rails (naturally occuring rails that span the area of Var Nexa and are older than recorded history).   The main purpose of Seeker Trains is to carry Seeker Teams into Var Nexa on expeditions and, more importantly, be able to bring them out. Their invention completly changed the scope of what humanity was capable of. Prior to this, humanity rarely explored Var Nexa, due to the danger's posed by Calamities, harsh environmental conditions and Vættir Loci ("Spirit Lands").   They follow the base design of the typical Steam Locomotives used throughout Terminus, though are typically smaller due to (usually) carrying smaller/lighter loads. The largest difference come from having Blenkinsop Wheels (large cog wheels situated slightly inside typical wheels) that are designed to connect to rack rails that were built into man-made rails that ran down the cliffs from the Outer Plateaus to Var Nexa and allow Seeker Trains to make the journey back from Var Nexa (due to the steepness of the cliffs, this wouldn't be possible on ordinary trains).   Seeker trains are often commission built for Seeker Teams, if they are able to afford it. Newer, less wealthy Seeker Teams typically buy cheaper trains that they'll upgrade or convert (though these are typically less capable than other models, so used for shorter journey's).   It is common to see Seeker Trains shiny on their exits from the Outer Plataus, but return battered and in need of dire repair, if they return.

Power Generation

Seeker Train's power source comes from the Var Nexa Rails, which have a strong source of energy running through them. It is currently unknown where this originates from, but the ability for Steam Engines to harness the energy is key to their function.

Weapons & Armament

Weapons and Armament vary based on how Seeker teams choose to customise their trains. Most Seekers opt not to load their trains with weapons, as they are at best deterrents for the threats of Var Nexa, but add weight to the train that can reduce speed and make it more difficult to climb steep rails.

Armor and defense

Armor and defense varies based on preference. On average, Seeker Trains are more heavily armoured than typical trains, being built to withstand the harsh conditions of Var Nexa.
