Plo Tinthum struck it rich when he was quite young, finding in the eastern shaft an undiscovered cavern which has been one of the richest finds ever. Since then, he has stopped entering into the caves himself, instead sending men he hires at rates well below their worth, and has become a bit of a political leader due to the influence he yields. What's more, there's whispers that he's involved in criminal activity, although that may just be a rumor spread by those who dislike his bombastic personality and hope to displace him from his role of power in the village.
