Anita Vex
"You must know me by now, Bando. I will never stop. Not until I have reached the goal that I have striven for all these years. I would rather have this city burn than for me to be set off this path." - Anita VexAnita Vex is the alias of the creature who is know as The Lich. Hudreds of years ago, she presented herself as a powerful mage and became a close ally (and partner) of Bando the Invincible. Together they set off on many adventures that took them around Terra, finding mysterious artifacts including what eventually was dubbed "the Everywhere Key". Unknown to Bando at the time, Anita Vex was only a glamour for an ancient evil...a powerful lich that sought to open a planar portal to the Nine Hells.
It wasn't until it was too late that Bando realized his grievous error. By then, the lich had accumulated a tremendous drow army including legions of werewolves, trolls, devils, demons and fae which began to crush and raze any city in its way. They made their pay past the Steel Gate, crushing the formidable "Red Legion" who made their last stand to give King Endo's armies time to mobilize.
Anita Vex and her horde reached what is now called Old Ferrus and was met by the largest army ever assembled, "The Grand Coalition", which was a joint army of the Atavarians, the Ferissian kingdom and duchy states, the Dwarven Kingdoms of Hammerlake, and a smattering of mercenary companies and adventurers from across the globe. Even with such a grand army, Anita Vex's legions were able to break through the lines, and Anita Vex herself entered the city of Old Ferrus, intent on reaching Hyperion, the giant ferrium crystal that powered the city of Ferrus in order to use its energy to open a permanent gateway into the Nine Hells.
It was King Endo himself, surrounded by some of the greatest heroes of the time that stood between Anita Vex and Hyperion. In a pitched skirmish that survivors called the "Battle for Terra", Anita Vex and her shadow guard cut down many of the heroes, pushing their way into the castles keep where the giant crystal was kept. When it seemed like all hope was lost, King Endo sacrificed his life and the life of many soldiers, heroes and civilians by swinging his legendary hammer into Hyperion, destroying it outright. The ensuing blast leveled the entire city of Old Ferrus, killing King Endo and thousands of people along with it. Only a smoking crater and black vapors remained where the lich once stood. The forces of Terra had won...but at a terrible cost.
