The Pentecost Tribunal
The Pentecost Tribunal is a secret order that was established in 829, by a cleric of Ayos named Bolivar Madrigal. It was initially created as a royal task force by the King of Old Ferrus to investigate and battle plague epidemics, such as the Spellplague which had blighted much of the Ferissian lands.
It established the 3 Pillars: Mundane, Arcane, and Divine as the three methodologies that it would use to investigate, cure, and abolish major diseases that would threaten the economies and lives of Old Ferrus. After the fall of Old Ferrus, the organization splintered off into an independent order, funded by secretive patrons all across Terra. It's ranks began to grow, attracting some of the best minds from all around Terra--establishing it as the premiere organization for dealing with pandemics that would threaten the stability of the cities of Terra. It maintains political neutrality as one of its primary tenets, however that has been questioned many times in the course of the 400 some odd years it has functioned as an independent organization.
It's headquarters is located on the island of Alta, South East of the land mass of Ferrus. Currently, Cardinal Kassandra functions as the leader of the Pentecost Tribunal.
Structure
The organization is led by a cardinal, with a council of 3 bishops who represent each of the three pillars of the Tribunal. Each bishop maintains their own core of acolytes who specialize in their pillar of study, investigation, and healing. Groups of three (one from each pillar) will be sent to investigate outbreaks all across Terra.
