Deviara
The Northern-most Kingdom of Man, it encompasses the entirety of the Devide desert and the city-state of Emyrit. Once a Monarchy ruled by a singular king, it now functions more or less as a “Constitutional“ Aristocracy, allowing its citizen’s and the nobility themselves a very limited set of inalienable rights but with it a dizzying amount of political rules and guidelines.
Power among Deviarans is usually tied more to noble blood or relation to those thereof. This is not viewed as a master slave relationship; viewed more as a responsibility to those that serve you than the privilege to control lesser men. Thus it is not uncommon to strive to be in direct service of a noble or their kin in order to accrue favors or minor political power.
Much of Deviara's income and wealth is accrued from trade with the dwarves of the north, most of which despise travelling across the the Devide. Deviara's Merchant guilds then redistribute these metals and minerals to the south for a hefty profit. Tensions between the Dwarven Kingdoms and the aforementioned guilds have risen as raiding parties have begun to crop up, robbing caravans and killing humans and dwarves alike, causing blame to be thrown between each other.
