Ottilie "Tilly" Doujan (oh-tee-lee-uh doo-jon)
(a.k.a. The Shrouded Harlequin)
Tilly was born the youngest of four sisters, to a branch family of the Doujan name. Her father, Amand, fled to the roots of Auld Taige, supposedly disillusioned with his position. Ottilie’s sisters were talented and the youngest a decade older than she, so there was no apparent response when he stole the meek, four-year-old Ottilie away with him. Matriarch Delphine, however, was known to cling to unusual traditions; and when all three of her older grandaughters had died she saw Ottilie as her last heir. She sent Adéle, Ottilie’s mother, to track her down. At times unpredictable and rash, her mother had an unfortunate reaction upon finding her previous consort and youngest daughter, which resulted in Tilly becoming blinded. Newly maimed and remembering very little of where she came from, Ottilie was taken from her father all the same, soon to face a world drastically different from the one she knew. Despite many difficulties since her return to Drossus, Ottilie survived. Showing abilities that have since marked her as blessed by Iloelth, she has proven herself useful to the Doujan, the Communion and many a scholar. She acquired the friendship of Arabella de la Vaine in the time before she bore the name of Braid Ardent; and after constant exposure to magic and otherworldly entities through her work, she has gained access to rituals most academics have never heard of—eventually earning a name herself. Following in the impressive shadow of Arabella, Ottilie has pursued martial skill and the strength to support those that wish to remove Outsider threats to the drosni people. When she is not cooperating in these efforts she typically keeps to herself, holding many secrets close. Growing up exposed to the Scietti, Ottilie has a broader view of the tensions among Eldari. Though she never revered the Seven, she acquired an understanding few Drosni in the Underdark are willing to entertain. Despite a strong dedication to Iloelth, she does not show the open disdain for other beliefs as most devoted followers do. All the same, she generally avoids discussion of Iloelthisme among those within the Communion.
Quiet, patient. Sees too much. Reluctant heiress to a tumultuous Drosni household and a lover of books; with a paper-cut that never quite went away.
