Iglishmêk Dwarven Sign
Overview
Iglishmêk (Dwarven Sign) was established as a means that allows infra-vision using Dwarves to communicate with one another in the dark - simply by covering and uncovering hand signs to differing degrees of visibility. Dwarven Gloves are known to allow for heat to pass visibly through on the palm area but not the back of the hand. This allows the various signs and counter signs visible in the dark to extend well above 50 signs.Iglishmêk is a gesture-language the Dwarves had devised for themselves. This allows dwarves to sign any message, given enough time. It is rumored to not be as eloquent as a fabled Dark Elven sign language - but it still functions well. The Dwarven sign script has some overlaps with Common Cant of the Thieves, allowing a non-thief Dwarf to understand 20% of any message they see signed by a Thief.
Vocabulary
The vocabulary is limited to underground structures, conditions regarding safety or solidity of rock formations and mining efforts. It also includes the ability to convey discoveries made whilst mining, including metal type, quality, gem type, direction of seam, enemy, danger types, and includes extensive direction giving advice needed to follow anything discovered.
