New Year Resolution 2024
2023 was very harsh for me. I gained more friends but also lost my honest one. Financial crisis was still not conclude, losing the same jobs twice. However, I'm still survived, stronger than ever. And Now, just a blink of eyes, it's already 2024. On the brightside, I've been through non-writing communities, and making arts for them, gaining profit at some. I hoped thing goes well this year.
2024 is also marked the fifth anniversary of Terraloga! I can't believe how far I've come as a worldbuilder, and I'll continue for many years more. Fun fact: I didn't come up with the name Terraloga when I started.
Like last year, I decided to write this year's resolution, as well as comapred the previous one what I've accomplished.Artists, what are your goals for 2024?get faster at drawing make fanarts make a living out of my worldbuilding projects reach 500 followers finish my 2015's screenplay
My Favorite Articles
The Black Rune
by CrazyEddieI always love when writers use plot article template to just telling its summary. The Black Rune is easy to follow without driving too deep or be confused by it. They use the third-view perspective to make the reader feel out of the setting yet enjoy it nevertheless.
Booty Cruises
by MochiDespite the questionable name, which was what I interested this in the first place, I loved how cohesive its history is, as well as the tragic and twist that caught me off guard. I wished Grove could have a second look, but it's too late.
Serukis
by Dr Emily Vair-TurnbullSometime a tiny article with only few paragraphs are enough to bring my interest in. Serukis' Serukis managed to do this just fine, with a couple of links and tooltips if there's no link. Also, very nice word for both in-world and out-world name. Keep up the good works. :D
Apotheosis
by Doug MarshallThe prose that easy to follow, yet packed with multiple emotions, from wonderous to curiosity. We don't even know his name but still emphesized and compelled. Like the author said, it's one of their personal favorite pieces - and so do I!
The Brictaelgican Pantheon
by Blue Fairy 74The example of creating pantheon without much of dedicated articles. I loved each of the deity origin which let me imagine and connect that of real world as well. The most favorite one was Êthri, the deity of death and dreams born out of nigthmare.
A to Z of Amazing Critters
by MochiThe details of each speices were well-written - I loved how the writer added the operation experiences. All were alphabatically arranged with greatly compelling and interesting formatting. Most of all, looked at the artworks - they were all so cuties! :D
First Macedonian Civil War
by KefkejacoA continental comflict yet easy to undertsand. It's well-written with extreme details from both sides. I loved how one man's sudden death turned the tide of the conflict.
Nomad of Mercury
by Annie SteinThe daily-life of mercurian people on the near-wasteland planet? I love the nomad's daily life and the Walkers. These foods looked delicious.
The World-Traveller's Cookbook
by spleenNothing to say but WOW! A whole cookbook in one article. Very practical to try each one with real-world ingrediants, even though some recipes were imcompleted (as I wrote this), showed how dedicate and passionate the writer had.
Fun On The Beach
by K.S. BishoffA bunch of fun small games to play with friends, even though I played alone, I still loved it. It's good idea to have mini-games in article to keep reader engage. Also, on my first play, Shark steaks for everyone!
B.A.R.D.S
by E. Christopher ClarkAnother example of having mini-games inside the article. I loved how the writer made me, and so the characters, to take a benefit of making random choice to entertain people in wide scale. Even on my first try, it's so hilarious. xD
Conclusion
The bards sit around their table at the pub, regaling each other with the stories of their day. Then Aria wraps things up with a sarcastic comment, a witty one-liner, or a painful pun.
The Second Micro Rebellion
by ElspethThe detail was compacted and summerized pretty well, while using anything the military conflict template provided.
Imperial citizens
by Amélie I. S. DebruyneI loved how each sections provide enough details to make the reader understand and enjoyed, but also interesting enough to look for more in the dedicate articles on the side. Also loved the wonderful quote at the footnote.
Resolution
In 2024, I'd like to
Growing my follower
Most of my focus recently is making illustration. I created my Twiiter account to show off my art and writing, but I seemed to not do much for the past years. So I plan to make it larger, with variety of contents I want to do.
Growing my youtube channel
In case you don't know, I've start making videos on Youtube! I want to know if I can use my writing to show off my worlds. There is several worldbuilding channels and I want to join in too because, why not? The problem is, what should I do next?
I still have only one video though
#Galaxy24 Challenge
I already have my space sci-fi world named Confederate State of Earth, so why not use this opportunity to have fun adding up my planetary systems catalogue? I'll reveal my protal in coming days.
Make a living out of worldbuilding.
With arts, writings, and videos I'll make, I'm going to turn my projects into something that stable my life, and not make my parents dissapointed in me ever again. I don't know if it's going to work, but better try than never.
AAAA Thank you for featuring two of my articles! I'm particularly proud of the A to Z of Amazing Critters, and the Booty Cruises make me giggle xD I hope you have a great 2024! <3
