The Second Micro Rebellion

The Conflict

Prelude

Perhaps unsurprisingly, before the Second Micro Rebellion came The First Micro Rebellion, a five year conflict in which the Macrans of P'Ache Micro attempted to free themselves from the rules of the treaty which had been imposed on them by the Primians from P'Ache Prime. They were unsuccessful in this attempt and the Primians took great pleasure in beating the Macrans into submission.   The Macrans eventually submitted to the Primians, but burning with hatred, were determined that this submission would not be for long.   For twenty-two years, the Macrans plotted and planned, deciding on the best way to remove their oppressors. By the end of 329PT, they had a plan and were confident it would work.

The Engagement

Rather than the explosions and attention-grabbing activities which launched the First Micro Rebellion, this time the Macrans took a stealthier approach.

Imitators' Insurrection

On 8 Two 330PT, Macrans inflitrated the seventeen Primian bases on the smallest of the three major landmasses on P'Ache Micro. They took advantage of a lunar event which disrupted communications between it and the other two landmasses. The Primians were caught completely unaware. The Macrans killed or incapacitate the leaders of those bases and restrained and incarcerated the remaining troops. By the time communications were back up, the Macrans had replaced the Primians, and the Primians on the other three landmasses were none the wiser. This was known as the Imitator's Insurrection.   This lasted until the same lunar event 13 months later, which they used to take over the remaining bases on the other two landmasses.   By 332PT, they had retaken control of the planet and were doing a good enough job impersonating the Primians that the people back on P'Ache Prime were completely unaware.

The Truthseekers

It wasn't until 336PT, when a group of Truthseekers from P'Ache Prime Media Outlets arrived to report on the success of the Macran assimilation. It turned out the fake reports which had been sent back to P'Ache Prime had been too remarkable and they felt some stories would help their efforts with P'Ache Minor.   The Truthseekers sent word back to P'Ache Prime and troops were quickly dispatched. What followed was a years long battle in the skies.   The Macrans fought valiantly, and managed to withstand the attacks for several years, but when the Primians finally managed to get feet on the ground towards the end of 339PT, the Macrans knew what could happen, and sent out cries for help to the other P'Ache Solar System planets.   The Minorans from P'Ache Minor were outraged and rallied behind the Macrans, resulting in the Minor Unrest which lasted from 21 One 340PT until 10 Three 344PT. As the Primians felt it was more important to recover P'Ache Minor than deal with P'Ache Micro.

Peace Talks

In 346PT, the Primians refocused their efforts on P'Ache Micro. What came next was ten years of mostly ground warfare. It was hard on both the Primians and the Macrans, and in 356PT, they entered into talks to find a way to end the conflict.   On 21 Five 357, the Macrans and the Primians came to an uneasy truce, ending the Second Micro Rebellion.

Outcome

The Macrans resigned their peace agreement with the Primians and continued being initiatied into the ways of P'Ache Prime. The Macrans were allowed to keep some of their traditions, on the condition that the included Primian traditions as well. They were also provided with more of the advancements which until then the Primians had kept for themselves.

Aftermath

As a result of involving the Minorans and prompting the Minor Unrest, the Macrans ultimately forced the Primians to reconsider their peace treaties and reword them accordingly. This change of wording can still be found in treaties today, over 4,000 years later.

I felt sad and disappointed that the Macrans didn't succeed in overcoming their oppressors. Will there be a Third Micro Rebellion? Anyway, another excellent article, as always.

It was disappointing, but they had a big impact on the Primians and the way in which The Peacekeeper Alliance now works. It's been four millennia since the rebellion so it's unlikely that there'll be a third, but if something were to occur elsewhere in the Territories they might be more inclined to support it... Thank you so much, that's so kind!

So many worlds to choose from...
