Amir
Requirements
The Amir must be a Firelander and have the loyalty of soldiers. He must control a city.
Appointment
Umara are typically the children of other Umara who claim the loyalty of their parent's followers. However, an Amir can be appointed by the men who follow him, especially if he is then victorious in claiming the territory of a rival Amir.
Grounds for Removal/Dismissal
If an Amir faces too many defeats, they are likely to find their men abandon them.

The Umara gain their power from the fact that they are followed, but many are descendants of nobility. Most gain power from the size of the warriors loyal to them.
