The Empress Takes the Wyrdtower

The Empress leads the Legions she has rallied along with the mob of people that have flocked to her banner to the Wyrdtower in the center of the Shimmering Sea. This year long campaign against the Mistwalkers and their hordes of Wyrding slaves resulted in a victory for the Empress and is considered to be where the Storm began to pass, though fighting continued for another 6 years.

The Empress commandeered what was left of the Imperial Navy and four legions that she had managed to rally and sailed for the Wyrdtower at the heart of the Storm. Her forces landed on the island and established a base camp as they fought hordes of Wyrdings. The Empress displayed her sorcerous might to prevent the Mistwalkers from being able to break their fortifications.   The campaign was slow and bloody as her legions fought their way through the Wyrding Hordes, the Empress's ships constantly bringing more supplies as they took the winding path up the mountain foot by foot, mile by mile, establishing outposts and building the Iron Gates that stand to this day. By the time they reached the top of the Wyrdtower, the legions had been decimated to the strength of only one and the mob had been wiped out. The Empress and her elite guard reached the pinnacle of the mountain where she slew the Sword of the Mists, the Wyrdsinger, and the Snatcher of Demons; the three most powerful Mistwalkers mentioned in the Imperial record.   The Empress and eleven soldiers were the only ones to return from the mountain top. Of the nearly Fifteen thousand men that marched with her, only eleven remained, but the Wyrdtower had been reclaimed from the armies of the Mists.
