Pruessmount

Government

Pruessmount is a member the Primrose Compact and one of its founding members. Prior to joining it had been a kingdom, which was ruled by the Drachenfels family since the 1200s AC. Upon entering the compact; the title was downgraded to Principality. Currently, it is ruled by Princess Monika II of Pruessmount . In 1656 AC, Prince Maurice III created the Assembly; a representative house where the various villages and districts within the domain of Pruessmount can send advocates to discuss governance of the Principality. The prince or princess will often mediate with the Assembly on local matters.

History

During the The Alessian Empire era was known as Puglistia and was a fairly large and powerful city. In the middle to late era the governer was often the General of the Prime Legion. During the era of the Reavers from Reinhart, the city and its fortification held off well. In fact, the city stood strong well after the official abandonment of Alessia in 1035 AC.
In 1157 AC a massive reaver army under the leadership of Grognak the Berserker began besieging the city. The ruling dynasty, the Sullus (the last remnants of the Alessian governors) fled. Without leadership the city was sure to fall. However, a mysterious adventurer named Pruess offered to take over the defense of the city. Ultimately, he led the remaining forces to victory, and then slew Grognak in a duel. The citizens of the city begged Pruess to become their leader, which he reluctantly agreed to. In celebration of his bravery and leadership, the city renamed themselves Pruessmount in his honor. They also bestowed upon him the title Drachenherz as during the battle, it was said Prues fought with the tenacity of a Dragon. Some say they saw him breath fire, and fly, although this is thought to be merely mythology. His ancestors still hold the throne and title to this day.

Westlane Hotel - Near the Eastman's Landing; often used by merchants making their way north or south via the Bonfrau. Owned by Igmar Isle and his family.
Eastgate Pub - A favorite of the local populace. Many citizens from the Pruessmount domain stay here if they have business in town. Owned by the Schneider family.
Northrun Inn - Simple accommodations for many having a short stay in the city; owned and operated by Regis and Rago.
The Princess Inn - The preferred lodging for Compact representatives or foreign dignitaries. Owned by the Countess Halmona, but run by her confidant; Louie.

Weiss's Worldy Wonders - Store filled with wonders great and small owned by the famous adventurer Weiss Vonderly .
Gond's Corner - Section of the city where many of the artisan guild workhouses are.
Armaments Lament - Coop featuring many of the area's best blacksmith's and armorers. A must stop for any adventurer.
The Westlane Agora - Large structure housing many local artisans and storefronts.
