Museums
The majority of the Museums in Eisen are either privately owned or maintained by the churches. Novadria is known for having some of the few public museums, one being the Novandria Museum of Science, as well as the Eisen National Museum. It is rumored that the city plans to open another museum focused on the children called Novadria Children's Museum. Most museums focus on specific areas of history, generally concerning the patron of the museum.
Among high society, visiting a museum is generally an opportunity to be seen, and have quiet conversations while taking in a bit of culture. Many families will visit together as a group and split off in order to meet with their social circles. Oftentimes opportunities for other outings, dinners, and balls are first discussed at such gatherings. Saturday is generally the ideal day for visiting the museum as a family.
The middle class attends museums generally for two reasons. The first are those who are truly interested in the exhibits. The second are upper middle class who are looking to start making gentle inroads with high society. Though it’s considered to be in poor taste to talk business at a museum, it is an ideal place to make acquaintances if you can arrange an introduction.
Though low class individuals do attend museums, they mostly attend Church-based museums which are free but accept donations. Though some private museums do have free entry days throughout the year, the entrance fee makes it a very special occasion that has to be saved up for. It’s one of the reasons rumors concerning the Children's Museum has drawn attention as it has been whispered that entrance for kids will be free.
Participants
Different guilds will oftentimes have small museums concerning their specific craft that are mainly visited by their guild members to learn about their guild's history, but the majority of the museums are owned and operated by private groups or by the church. It is, however, normal practice to hire members of The Gilded Library of Scribes, Historians, Archivists, and Clerks or The Union of Naturalist Professionals to run the museums. The Union of Naturalist Professionals museum on mystical creatures is one of the most popular in Novandria.
