Vilderavn

Precious little is know about them by the colonists of the Oniyuri Province. There are stories of four great beasts which can shift between the shapes of a massive raven, a black wolf or dire wolf, and a sinister hybrid, a black wolf with the wings of a raven which were fought by the Fellowship of the Bear before the colonists began coming to Yutakaya. The stories vary on how these creatures were defeated, whether they were killed or simply retreated or if there is a more complicated story behind their seeming disappearance since that time. There is neither knowledge nor rumor that they are also able to take the form of a humanoid, though some who hear the stories wonder if they may be able to take other forms as well. It is believed that they cannot leave the Aomori Hinterlands but this is a lie they are aware of, and likely cultivate and perhaps even insinuated. They may even walk or have walked the lands of the colonists, going so far as to travel to Londe to strike at the heart of their enemy.   Their swords are always with them to the extent that one has never been seen without theirs. It is unknown whether the Vilderavn and it's sword are even separate entities. If they are, which comes first in their formation? The souls of those they slay with their Soul Eater ability are stored within them.

Naming Traditions

Those who interact with them are given only their titles. It is unknown what their names are, if they have any. These titles always include the name of their sword, for which they harbor an unusual affection. Examples are Wielder of Endbringer, Wielder of the Ravager, Bearer of Faithkeeper, Bearer of Torment, and Possessor of Misfortune. It is unknown if they have any names besides these. (Kindness for "Kill them with Kindness"?)
